// the boring but important bit

PRIVACY

Last updated: April 2026. Written in plain English because legal jargon helps nobody.

// the short version

We collect as little data as possible. We don't store your email. We don't track you across the web. We don't sell anything to anyone. If you delete your profile, your data goes with it.

*That's genuinely it. But here's the longer version if you need it.

// what we store

When you sign in (with Twitch or Google) and create a profile, we store:

Data Stored? Why
Username (from Twitch or Google) Yes Your display name in the directory
Avatar URL Yes Your profile picture
Bio Yes You wrote it, we display it
Timezone Yes Helps viewers find streamers in their timezone
Genres & top games Yes Feeds the directory filters
Platform links Yes So viewers can find your channels
Live status & viewer count Yes Updated automatically via Twitch, Kick & YouTube APIs
Email address No We don't ask for it, don't need it
Real name No None of our business
Location / IP address No Not stored by us
Browsing activity No No tracking scripts, no analytics

// signing in

You can sign in with either Twitch or Google. Both use OAuth, which means you log in directly with that provider — we never see or store your password.

Whichever provider you use, we only keep your public username and avatar. If you sign in with Google, we don't store your Gmail address, your contacts, your calendar, or anything else from your Google account.

You can revoke our access at any time:

Twitch Connections settings — remove NobodysWatching
Google Account permissions — remove NobodysWatching.live

// youtube api services

We use the YouTube API Services to check whether streamers who've linked their YouTube channel are currently live. This is read-only — we only check public live status data on channels that streamers have explicitly linked to their NobodysWatching profile. We do not access your watch history, subscriptions, playlists, uploaded videos, comments, or any private YouTube data.

By using NobodysWatching.live, you are also agreeing to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

Google's privacy practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy.

You can revoke our access to your Google account at any time via the Google security settings.

// third-party services

The site is hosted on Netlify and our database is on Supabase. Both are reputable services with their own privacy policies.

To check live status across platforms, we use the Twitch API, the YouTube Data API, and Kick's public channel API. These calls are made server-side using only the public channel identifiers that streamers have explicitly added to their profile.

We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other tracking tools.

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may log basic request data on their end. That's the extent of third-party involvement.

// cookies

We use a single authentication cookie to keep you logged in. That's it. No tracking cookies, no advertising cookies, no cookie consent banner taking up half your screen.

*You're welcome.

// deleting your data

You can delete your entire profile and account at any time from your profile settings. It's permanent, it's immediate, and it removes everything we have on you. No waiting period, no "we'll keep your data for 30 days just in case" nonsense.

// changes to this policy

If we ever change what we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page. We'll try to make noise about it too. But honestly, the whole point of this project is to collect as little as possible, so major changes are unlikely.
